3. Empress genmei establised the capital od heijo-kyo (710-794 CE)
Nara was bulting in the chinese model of Chang-an, the Tang Capital

4. Example: 
  • Todai-ji eastern Great Temple located in the city of Nara, Japan. The biggest temple in the city of Nara. 
  • Kasuga Taisha Shrine (Temple) , set in a forest near Nara. Officially founded in 768 CE.

5. Element in Japan architecture
  • wall - timber and bamboo widely used.
  • opening- door can be used as wall and also removable
  • roof - flat terrace roof, iramoa gable, roof covering can be thatch, shingles or tiles.
  • column - found in temple or gateway followed from chinese form.
  • decoration and ornamentations - influences by religious believes. 

6. Conclusion.
Filled with hundreds of interesting variety of building that exhibit different arch form form humble farm house to grand imperial palace. many structures exhibiting past architectural style are nowadays popular tourist sites. They are spread across the country, some 
surviving in entire preserved districts or towns, while others were moved to open air museums.
